Hyatt Place Miami Airport West/Doral

The pool was ice cold, and the room had cracked tile on the wall. We gave this place two tries. On the first visit there was a lizard on the wall, and some TV channels didn't work. I went to the front desk twice; someone was supposed to come fix it, but no one showed up. When we returned and the TV still had the same problem, my husband asked the desk and we were moved to another room, where some channels still didn't work. I won't stay here again.

The bathroom was clean and nice, and the room service ladies did a great job tidying up and replacing everything. Breakfast was good, too, with decent choices, though there wasn't much for someone with a sweet tooth like me. But when I pulled apart the bed sheets at bedtime, I found what looked like fresh chocolate stains or something similar. The bed looked neat at first, but those sheets clearly hadn't been washed, and it grossed me out.

The room was clean and the beds were comfortable, and after we complained we did get a discount, so customer service wasn't all bad. Still, breakfast was lackluster, with no eggs on our last day. Our room had no Wi-Fi, and reception was better out in the parking lot. We were told someone would check on it, but heard nothing afterward. The gym was tiny, mostly cardio machines, with free weights only up to 25 pounds. I also asked in the morning to have two pillows set aside for pickup when we got back that night, but was told only one was left.

I won't be coming back to this location. The room had smells, as other reviews have mentioned, and breakfast was a disaster. On my second day they ran out of bread, fruit, and oat milk. I understand it was holiday season and the property was full, but management should have planned for the occupancy. At over $200 a night for an airport transit hotel, I expect better. This was the worst Hyatt property I've stayed at.
