Douglas Inn & Conference Center

I don’t usually leave bad reviews, but people should know what to expect here. The breakfast setup was filthy: the waffle iron had a thick layer of grease, raw eggs were left sitting out amid food splatters, and there was moldy salad in the fridge. It was hard to tell how long the food had been out. My first room had visible mold in the A/C, and the air smelled damp. After I asked to move, the next room still felt dirty and neglected, with duct tape holding the office chair together. This place needs serious cleaning and management attention. I’d find somewhere else to stay until things improve.

The location right off the freeway was convenient, but we won’t be coming back. The hotel is outdated and run down, the carpet smelled like smoke, and there’s no elevator, so we had to carry our suitcases upstairs. Breakfast was cold and dirty. There weren’t any plates, and when we asked for more, someone had to fetch them from under the counter beside mouse droppings. The tables were still covered in dirty dishes.

I had to leave and stay at my mom’s. The room was disgusting, with bed bugs, an unclean toilet, and a shower curtain that smelled like urine. At the pool, I had to ask for towels, and the man just tossed them into the area instead of putting them where they belonged. I’d recommend going somewhere else, 100%.

I was there for work, and one morning I woke up covered in bites. I complained, was told it had been checked, then slept in the same room and actually saw the bug that bit me. After I complained again, they moved me to another room. The cleanliness was very poor, so I never even tried the breakfast. The A/C was disgusting, and when I asked someone to fix the TV, the staff member had terrible body odor. It was the worst stay I’ve ever had. Even if this were the only place to stay in Douglas, I’d sleep in my car.
