Baymont Inn and Suites Douglasville Atlanta

We'd checked ten hotels already and the prices were way too high for just six hours, so we were glad to find Baymont. We were driving 13 hours to take our son back to the Fort Gordon Base and stopped two hours away, since he wasn't due back until 6pm. The people there were wonderful, and the beds were so comfortable I didn't want to get up. Because our son was in the army, they told us to drop him off and come back to rest a few more hours before getting back on the road. Thank you, Baymont. We'll definitely stay here whenever we pass through.

Be careful if you choose this place. Over four days, the amount I was charged seemed to depend on who was working. The first night was $65, the next was $75, and then I was told the weekend rate was $80. When I went to pay for another night on Monday 2/2/2026, I was told the boss had raised the rate to $80, which isn't worth it. The rooms are only half clean, and the breakfast they advertise is cold. When you try to talk things through, suddenly they don't speak good English. This feels like bad business, and it should be against the law to operate this way.

I booked online with a credit card, then paid cash when I arrived. Four hours after I checked out, they tried to charge my card. They hadn't given me a receipt for the cash payment, which was why I locked the card as soon as I paid, to stop any charge from going through. I was also made to wait while they checked my room so I could get the $50 deposit back. At the same time, a Caucasian guy checking out handed his key to the front desk and didn't wait for a deposit refund. I seriously doubt he'd simply leave a deposit behind, especially if he'd had to pay $50 like I did. It felt like certain people, mainly people of color, had to pay one. If you're of color and reserve online but plan to pay cash when you arrive, I'd lock your card right after paying. In my experience, they tried to charge it again, and the white guy in front of me didn't have to pay a deposit while I did.

Outside the bedroom window there was drug paraphernalia, and when we returned to the hotel we heard a gunshot from a nearby parking lot. The room was absolutely disgusting. I booked through hotels.com and ran into payment issues, and the owner or manager was very rude. I wouldn't recommend anyone stay here.
