Holiday Inn Express Atlanta West - Theme Park Area by IHG

Everyone in our group recommends this hotel. My company booked rooms for five at a great rate, then added a sixth later and got that same rate. I’d already reviewed the place after my own stay, and the others enjoyed theirs too. The rooms were excellent, with comfortable beds and freshly cleaned carpets. Parking was ample and well lit, and the noise and general environment were good. There weren’t strong smoke smells in the hall or around the hotel. The laundry machines worked well. The fitness room is small, though there’s a gym nearby if you need one.

The night desk lady and gentleman always took a real interest in how our day and stay were going. I was in a cast, and they were quick to offer help. My partner’s daughter and son-in-law live nearby, and he’s expecting his first grandchild. We’ll definitely make this our regular place when we come to visit.

Free parking was a nice plus, and I got the quiet, clean room and good service I was looking for. The staff were phenomenal and very friendly. The room was great and mostly clean, though the shower glass could use a better wipe. Someone had left a heart on it that showed up when the glass steamed. Breakfast was a little lacking, but I had a great stay.

The bed height was the only real problem for us. I was traveling with my 88-year-old mother, who uses a wheelchair and has impaired vision, for a funeral, and the bed was hard for her to get into. She’s shorter than 5'4", so if you’re traveling with someone of a similar height who needs help, I’d bring a small 3- or 4-inch platform. We don’t use a transfer board, so I can’t say whether one would help. The beds aren’t low, and I’d like corporate to consider keeping a few short platforms for mobility-accessible rooms. Adjustable beds might be another option, though I realize that could raise the price. Everything else was stellar. The room was spotless, and the bathroom tile wasn’t slippery. The floor felt less cold than usual, maybe because it was heated, though it wasn’t hot. And the staff were unbelievably kind and patient. I called with questions before the trip and kept asking for help after we arrived, probably about 5,247 times, and they never made me feel like a bother. Every person, from front desk to custodians and cleaning staff, was helpful. Many thanks to all of you.
