Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Dover

The price was very good, and the room was clean, with a vacuumed floor and a really comfortable bed. Staff checked me in as soon as I arrived and were very friendly. McDonald's is across the road, and Wawa is down the street. Breakfast was light, with fresh fruit, oatmeal, bagels, cream cheese, butter, jelly, peanut butter, Froot Loops, Cheerios, milk, DKF, and regular coffee. We were still in the room at 11:10, about ten minutes past when we should have left. Staff were already at the door, but kindly asked if we needed more time. I thought that was generous. I'd definitely stay here again if I needed to spend a night in dover.

The AC kept cycling on and off all night even though it was set to low, not Auto, so earplugs would be handy. The hotel is very clean, the mattresses were great, and it's ideally located near Dover AFB. Just a heads-up, the dispenser by the bathroom sink is labeled and contains lotion, not soap.

The property itself is nice, in a great location, and the rooms were spacious and very clean. But the front desk experience was unpleasant. I checked in on 8/15/25 at 3pm. The woman at the desk saw me waiting, but during the shift change nobody acknowledged me, not even to say they'd be a moment. When our friend came down to speak with her, she still didn't look up or acknowledge them. The front desk should be more welcoming to guests checking in.

There were lots of USB ports, plus plenty of lights. I liked having all the charging spots together so I wouldn't forget my electronics later. The microwave was handy and the refrigerator was very cold. This is one of the best hotels I've stayed at in Dover DE. Every staff member, from the front desk to the cleaning crew, was friendly and smiling. They seemed to care about their work and how they treated customers, and they were all genuinely nice. I couldn't have been treated better. Whatever they're being paid, they deserve a raise. Bless the staff. I'll definitely stay here again.
