Budgetel Wilmington

We were there for a week, waiting on our realtor each day, and the staff were so patient at checkout time. They never pressured us to leave, and we found our new home! The room was clean, the beds cozy, and the housekeepers kind. The office staff were caring and went beyond customer service. The building was being renovated, but we weren't disturbed by it once. There's a beautiful pool, updated laundry machines, and plenty of spacious parking. Great location in the center of town.

We got a great deal for Labor Day weekend, and having reservations helped. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. I'd give it more stars if there were breakfast or at least coffee. I'd felt a bit nervous after reading reviews once I'd booked, but the room wasn't too bad when we arrived. All in all, not a bad place to stay.

This was the only hotel in the area with any rooms left, and the reviews had me nervous. I stayed several days, checked the bed carefully before getting in, and never saw any bugs. The cleaning staff used bleach, which I could smell when they came by, and for a low-budget hotel it was honestly pretty clean. My main issue was the other people staying there, who made me nervous. We just stayed alert and careful.

The rooms weren't very clean, and the place looked like it was falling apart. We called before booking to ask whether the pool was open and were told it was, but when we arrived it was empty and hadn't been filled at all that summer. The shower didn't always have hot water. Ants got all over us the first night, and we checked out early after finding roaches all over the room and in our clothes. The raw sewage smell outside was disgusting. There was no alarm clock or hair dryer. I'd give this place zero stars if I could.
