The Water Street retreat worked out well for my training, with a great downtown location close to our training center. Shops, good restaurants, and a quaint Irish pub were all within walking distance in the evenings, and I had a beautiful view of the USS North Carolina every day. I’m planning to bring my wife for our anniversary. The contactless check-in texts were clear and helpful to me, and I've used Airbnb before.

We really liked the balcony view and the layout, with a living room and kitchen separate from the bedroom. We stayed four nights and had no trouble checking in or out. The washer and dryer were a nice extra. Parking was a short walk away, though we could use the loading zone beside the building for 15 minutes.

We were locked out of room #805 at 2 AM after a man called and told us to leave the property. He said we couldn't pay anything and that the police would escort us out. I believe this was racial discrimination because my friend is a different ethnicity from me. I had booked the rental in Wilmington on 4/6/24 to avoid drinking and driving after the festivities, and the policy said there was a $25 fee for an unauthorized person to stay. I would have paid $50 to make sure my friend didn't drive about two hours home after drinking. The listed price was $230, or $320 with taxes and fees, but my card was charged $439. I have the messages and emails showing what was allowed. I feel they took my money and kicked us out. This was a horrible experience, and I paid almost $500 to be thrown out. I do not recommend this company.

We were surprised by how spacious the condo was, and the amenities made our stay more comfortable. It’s right in the middle of downtown, with a beautiful balcony view. It exceeded our expectations, and we’ll definitely book it again on our next trip to Wilmington. Highly recommend it for a couple of days in town.

The outside looked a little sketchy at first, but don't judge your vacation by the exterior. Inside, it was adorable and comfortable, and the views and porches were just lovely. We could walk to absolutely everything. My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary last fall, and I felt like a queen. I’m already looking forward to another anniversary at the Water Street Retreats! ❤️
