Comfort Inn & Suites Dover-Portsmouth

Dee at the front desk made a rough stretch of work travel so much easier. After three awful nights with barely any sleep, I called Comfort Inn & Suites at 8:30am and explained that I needed rest before a 3 PM business meeting. I have severe insomnia and prescription sleep medication, but taking it too late leaves me useless the next day. Dee listened and let me check in early for my first of four days at no extra charge, even though I offered to pay. I got almost five hours in the spacious, clean double queen room, and the bed was really comfortable. I nailed the meeting. The room was quiet, the shower pressure was great, and breakfast had plenty of choices. There are several restaurants within walking distance, too. Dee, your kindness brightened my day, and your service was outstanding. I’m in the Dover NH area for work often and will definitely be back. I highly recommend staying here.

I was visiting from NYC for my nephew’s wedding. While we were waiting for an uber out front on the day we left, my son went to get juice from the breakfast station. A man and the front desk clerk seemed to profile him, which was strange since he was the one who made our reservations. I didn't know there was any problem with us waiting for the uber. It's 2025, why is this kind of behavior still tolerated? This review may not change much, but I hope they remember my son. I won't stay at any Comfort Inns again.

I found boogers on the headboard, about an inch of dust on top, dirty socks in the drawer nearest the TV, and hair on the shower wall. Maybe this was a fluke with the room cleaning, I don't know. But the price was ridiculous for a dirty room, and I won't return. I can't justify giving the place one star, though, so it's three from me.

The hotel is a little confusing to get to, but the rooms are beautiful and really comfortable. Great place.
