Quality Inn & Suites Benton - Draffenville

The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was a nice hot meal. The bathroom was fine otherwise, though some wallpaper was coming loose and plaster was missing in a few spots.

There’s a bar right next door, which is a lot of fun. The area itself is really nice and quiet. For a two star hotel, you can only expect so much, but everything was clean and there were no bugs. It seems they’ve dealt with the issues they had before.

The AC blew right onto the curtains, so it was hard to get the room to a comfortable temperature. I asked for an extra blanket, but it never showed up. The main problem, though, was the odor: my room smelled of dog urine and mold as soon as I opened the door, and it seemed to get worse the longer I stayed. Even the bed linens took on the smell. At checkout, the woman ahead of me was also complaining that her room stank of dog urine. Don’t waste your time or money on this nasty place.

The room had a few small marks of damage on the walls and a burned out bathroom bulb, but it was okay for a quick weekend trip. Breakfast was basic and did the job. The location suited where I needed to be, though it’s a bit out of the way from most nearby things. It worked well enough for a short visit, but I probably wouldn’t stay there for an extended trip.
