Jeanne R. made the stay easy and pleasant. I said goodnight to her at the desk around 11, then came down for fresh coffee around six and she was still there. The lobby was quiet in the mornings, so I spent hours working there with my dog. The free coffee is available 24/7 and isn’t bad. I stayed several nights. The rooms had cool, square studio layouts, and the gym was impressive for a small hotel, with treadmills, free weights, a big Smith machine, and plenty of other equipment. A couple of things weren’t great. Drivers in the residential complex behind the hotel were reckless, and I almost got run over on the straightaway by the backup generator. I don’t know what the hotel could realistically do about it. The smells from neighboring businesses weren’t pleasant either, and 20-30 kids showed up each weekday afternoon to steal snacks. Still, it’s a good Bay Area spot, with two Costcos nearby, Country Waffles, Mayflower right outside, and Koi Palace two blocks away for dim sum. Bridges golf course is close too, beautiful but very hard, and there are outlets nearby.

The staff were attentive, but communication was a real problem. I ordered a beer and a salad, then, after I’d had a drink or two, the server came back to say they didn’t have any salad. I had to go back to my room for my coat and find something basic elsewhere, and I was left paying for a beer I didn’t finish. I don’t want to sound entitled, but that was beyond what I consider acceptable. How can the kitchen have no salads while the bar staff don’t know? I’ll think twice before staying here again.

From morning through evening, the staff went out of their way to make sure our family was taken care of. Romika was especially generous and accommodating, and so sweet with us. You could tell people here genuinely care about guests. That kind of kindness is rare, and we look forward to booking again.

The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and the amenities are pretty standard. What makes this one of my favorite hotels nearby is the staff. Everyone I’ve met has been kind, friendly, and attentive. The lobby coffee is great too.
