Holiday Inn Express Columbus-Dublin by IHG

On this second stay, I could hear far too much from the neighboring room, and the shower ledge was covered underneath with mold and mildew. The bathroom had a slight musty smell, too, which might be related to the lack of a deep clean. I only noticed the mold at the end of my second night of a two-night stay, otherwise I’d have asked to move. Clean bathrooms matter to me, so I’ll look elsewhere next time. My first stay had been decent, with easy check-in, clean shared spaces, a typical breakfast, and an okay room. There was a small leak dripping from the bathroom ceiling exhaust above the toilet. I told the front desk, but nothing was done. The location and price were why I chose this place again, and I thought I knew what to expect from Holiday Inn Express. It served its purpose the first time, but this visit was disappointing. Some people may overlook these issues, but I need a clean bathroom.

The room had a noticeable damp, musty odor throughout, which I suspect comes from the older carpets. Replacing or deep-cleaning them would make this a perfect stay. Apart from that, I was satisfied. The pool was well maintained, breakfast was high quality, and the staff were consistently friendly and professional. It had the standard IHG atmosphere and was a solid choice for amenities and service.

Housekeeping was offered every three days, and when I asked for service sooner, the staff were quick and happy to help. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, and the hotel felt clean, comfortable, and well managed. It has more amenities and better service than any other Holiday Inn Express in Columbus, Ohio, in my experience. Pam made check-in great. Management also arranged an early check-in because of the inclement weather, which I really appreciated and felt showed how guest-focused the hotel is. I had an outstanding stay at the Holiday Inn Express Dublin, Ohio, hands down one of the best locations in the Columbus area. If you need a reliable, comfortable hotel around Dublin or Columbus, this is the place. Highly recommend.

The staff were polite, but I left unhappy with what I paid. Two nights cost me $500, and they added another $50 for one night because a concert was 25 miles away. They even charge more for points than other hotels. The place has a fresh coat of paint, but the usual hotel problems are still there: the toilet wouldn't flush because of a bad water valve, the bathtub in the neighboring room wouldn't drain, and the AC was difficult to use and wouldn't cool the room much. Definitely not worth it.
