Red Rock Extended Stay

This was an emergency stay, and having such a clean, relaxing place during all the chaos really helped. We were comfortable, and the front desk guy understood my late check-in and worked with me to accommodate my two small dogs, even though dogs aren't usually allowed.

It was fine as a place to sleep for one night, but it didn't live up to the pictures in person. There were no frills, no bathroom mirror, and holes in the wall where it looked like one had been. Water kept running in the tub all night because it wouldn't shut off.

Everyone in Duchesne was so kind when our car broke down right in front of this cute place on the way to vernal. At least ten people stopped to see if we needed help, and the sweetest couple stayed with us for over an hour. At the hotel, they got us a room right away, helped carry our things, and made our dog feel loved. The room was clean and nice, with a comfortable bed and pillows, a useful kitchenette, and a presentable bathroom. We checked out the next day hoping the car was fixed, but when it wasn't, they let us wait in the lobby with our dog. Once we learned we'd need another night, they gave us a fresh room right away. They were very pleasant to work with. Breaking down in Duchesne turned out not to be a disappointment at all.

The office smelled like cigarettes when I arrived in the evening, and I had to call because nobody was at the desk. The guy first tried to put me on the back side, which I wasn't comfortable with. I asked for the front, and he kindly moved me there. To be honest, he didn't have any other guests on that side. There was food left in one of the cupboards. One of the mirrors looked sketchy, and my son and I joked that it might be a two-way mirror. It was creepy.
