Best Western Plus Duncanville/Dallas

Got a BW discount, so it was excellent value. The mattress was comfortable, and the sheets, bed, and whole room were clean. Breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I’ve had since my last Drury stay: fresh, hot, plentiful, and tasty, with Victoria serving it with a smile. Nice touch with the plants on the tables, and the area was spotless. A+! Please have someone look at the tub drain. It kept closing and wouldn’t drain, so I had to take it out.

The breakfast was one of the best we’ve had at a Best Western. The ladies preparing it were lovely, and the homemade Spanish salsa was very good. The desk clerk was friendly and professional, and our room was comfortable. The place seemed new and was very clean. The sheets had a strong detergent smell that was really unpleasant. Otherwise, I would’ve given it five stars.

On my second stay, my daughter tripped on the hanging bed cover, which pulled the spread and sheet back. There was dried blood on the sheets. She told the front desk, and the young woman offered either a room change or three tickets for “2 snacks per ticket,” plus fresh bedding. The sheets should have been changed before we arrived. I’d had my newborn grandson dropped off with me, and after working all day I was too tired to pack everything and move rooms, so we changed the bedding and kept the stained sheets to show management. The receptionist said management would contact me the next morning. No one did. After work, I took the sheets to the front desk and laid them out so the blood was visible. I got the corporate number and the housekeeping supervisor’s name, Lucy, and called. They said I’d hear back before checkout, but nobody called. There had already been a problem on my first stay: my five-year-old and I found a used condom on the sidewalk near the pool. The room was fairly clean, but someone should walk the property. While I was out getting food, a random man walked into my room and back out. My daughter called me, and the front desk initially acted like they didn’t know who he was. They checked the camera and said he was the maintenance man. I let the woman at the desk know, and she put on gloves and picked up the condom herself. I chalked it up to them not knowing what was going on and forgave it, then came back the next week. After these two stays, I can say this location is nasty. Finding blood on sheets where my daughter had been lying is outrageous, especially when someone is supposedly checking rooms before guests arrive. The place and the response have left me furious. What if it were your child lying in someone else’s dried blood? It takes no effort to treat people decently, and I don’t feel these people did.

This was a great last stop on our road trip from Arizona back to Alabama. Lucy was patient with all my rugrats, and the Chilaquiles she made were the best. The breakfast was great, the rooms were clean and spacious, and check-in went quickly and smoothly. Lucy definitely deserves a raise!
