Rodeway Inn Dunmore

I woke up with a bedbug on my arm, and management's response was a huge disappointment. They wouldn't take responsibility for the bed bugs and said a guest might have brought one in. I asked for an incident report but didn't get one; they said they deep clean rooms after every stay. I'll report this to the local agency. I won't consider staying here again and don't recommend it to anyone. The room didn't feel clean, either: the carpet was old, stained, and musty enough that I didn't feel comfortable walking barefoot, and there was a strong cigarette smell. Every towel had yellow spots, the comforter was torn and had cigarette burns, and the sheets and pillows looked yellowed. Towels and sheets should be replaced as they wear, and this motel isn't maintaining them properly.

The front desk lady was so nice, and my room was pretty nice too. Service was really good and the view was beautiful, so I'm happy with my stay ♡ One odd thing if you're upstairs: you may hear knocks from another door in your room. I don't know why, but housekeeping always comes through that other door, which they keep locked.

I've been coming every summer for years, usually for a few weeks, and the service keeps me coming back. The front desk is amazing and always accommodating. Whenever you ask for help, they're there within minutes. They remember me, greet me right away, and make me feel welcome. My room is always tidy and clean, with fresh linen, shampoo, and soap fully stocked. Other places often have empty supplies or not enough linen. After a bad experience elsewhere, we arrived late one night and they made sure we had a nice, clean room. The price is the best around for the value and service, and I'll keep returning every year. The building is older, but the owners take pride in the inn and it shows. The rooms and warm welcome make it feel like a comfortable home away from home. Kindness and a gracious attitude matter a lot to me, and the people running this place have both. I've met the gentleman and the lady, and they're both wonderful, respectful, accommodating hosts. On my first trip, I tried to book at a different hotel down the road because its reviews were better, but the woman there was rude and treated me like an annoyance. The warm smile and helpful, respectful welcome at Rodeway were a complete change. It could use a little love, but the beds are super comfortable, and I especially appreciate how quiet it is. I once stayed at a “4 star” hotel and barely slept because of doors slamming and drunk people in the hall. Rodeway has been peaceful and quiet on several visits. The first time, the manager moved me to a king bed because my shower wasn't working properly. I know it's been fixed since.
