We couldn't meet the owners because they weren't available while we were there, but they were gracious about it. The home and the similarly styled houses around it make a very pretty setting, with a spacious front yard that could work nicely for a ceremony or mingling. My concern is the broken concrete on the driveway and walkways. It could be a safety issue for guests, especially anyone with a disability, people in heels, or young children running around. We viewed the lovely home online and then walked around the outside.

The owner's involvement really added to our stay, as we've found it does at the 30 or so B&Bs we've visited in the US. Of the places we've stayed, this inn stands among the very best for character, condition, cleanliness, and elegance. The room and common areas were beautiful, and the owner prepared an outstanding breakfast. It's a friendly place in a fabulous, elegant mansion. We stayed one night in November 2025. On this trip, we paid about the same, around $150, at three B&Bs in NC, but this one stood far above the others.

Patti and Alan made us feel welcome and were so personable. The house is beautiful, and my bed was very comfortable. Breakfast and coffee were wonderful too. There's a little coffee bar and a small fridge, so you can have coffee whenever you like. I hope to visit again when I'm down South.

Breakfast was outstanding, and the hosts were wonderful. I got to choose a room at Simply Divine, where I stayed in late March while heading to Florida. What a beautiful place. I'll definitely return.

Alan and Patti gave us a fascinating history of the mansion at check-in, from its original owners in 1900 to the present. They're gracious hosts, and Simply Divine is a beautiful historic B&B. The decor and furnishings show lovely taste and care throughout, while the bedrooms have modern amenities. Our king bed was so comfortable, and breakfast was fantastic. We were lucky to find this North Carolina gem for a wonderful two-day stay. We plan to return soon and highly recommend it.
