Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Durant by IHG

I've stayed at dozens of Holiday Inn Express locations around the USA, and this one is a good option if you're visiting the casino but don't want to stay there. It's good value, with modern, clean rooms, a decent free breakfast, and friendly, helpful staff.

The rooms were below average, and the man who checked me in was needlessly rude. My rate was raised for no reason, which I believe was illegal. Also, despite what the website says, they do NOT have a free shuttle to the casino. I wouldn't have stayed in this dump if that had been clear. That's false advertising, and I think it should be investigated, fined, and potentially shut down. I won't stay here or at any IHG again. I think IHG lies about everything. #HiltonForLife

We were in town for a concert at Choctaw Casino, and the location worked well, with lots of food choices nearby. The rooms were roomy and comfortable, and having a Keurig was a nice extra. Breakfast was great, with plenty to choose from. The Friday front desk employee could have been more welcoming, but otherwise we had an excellent stay.

We got to the hotel easily from the freeway, and the area was quiet. It looked like there might be a large homeless camp in the trees in the field beside the property. Walmart is an easy walk away if you don't want to give up a good parking spot or just want some exercise. The room was spacious and clean. We had to ask for linens for the pullout couch since none were in the room as usual, but they brought them quickly. Breakfast offered a good selection, though the hot items were lukewarm at best. We liked the fresh-ground coffee machine, and both desk attendants we met were courteous and helpful. The slamming room doors woke us a few times overnight. Also, the wall thermostat didn't control the room temperature, which had to be adjusted on the unit under the window. We spent most of the night warmer than we'd have liked.
