We came to see our granddaughter at UNH and found Anchor at Tideline to be a perfect little spot for a quick visit. It's VERY CLEAN, organized, and well maintained, with a comfortable bed and excellent linens, plus extra blankets if needed. The kitchenette had everything we needed: a small table and two chairs, microwave, mini fridge with freezer, and hot and cold water dispenser. There's no stove, which seems wise given the fire risk and uncertainty about how people might use it. We also liked the many outlets for phones and a computer. The sitting room couch was comfortable, and there was a TV we never switched on. We hardly heard the next suite, though there was some street noise, not enough to make us leave. It's only 3/4 mile from campus and 1/2 mile from downtown. We'll be back and have already shared this gem with friends and family who have booked it too. Thanks for making Slack Tide feel like a home away from home while we visit our granddaughter.

We were excited as we headed upstairs to the Slack Tide room, and check-in was easy. There are food trucks and a tap room on site, and once we went through the locked entry doors, the surroundings were lovely. Inside, we had all the comforts of home. We enjoyed relaxing with the windows open and would love to come back. Scott & Karen, thanks for such a lovely place to stay!

I booked this on Expedia because I needed somewhere near Demeritt Hill Farm for the Haunted Overload event. I hadn't looked closely and thought I was getting a regular hotel, so the remote check-in and more AirBNB-style setup surprised me, but it worked out great. The property has two lodging suites upstairs, above a restaurant, with a lounge outside the guest area and a private party room beside it. Guests access their section with a pinpad code. We were there Thursday and it was quiet, with nobody hanging out in the upstairs lounge. Our Expedia listing said “queen room,” so I was pleasantly surprised to find a roomy suite with a kitchenette area and seating space. It was cozy and beautifully furnished, with lots of books and thoughtful touches. The rooms aren't directly over the bar, but above another seating area. Downstairs, Tideline Public House has a parking lot that hosts food trucks, outdoor seating, fire pits, and an indoor/outdoor bar called the Salt Shed. We ate at the restaurant and liked the selection and value. The Pumpkin Lava Cake was REALLY good. The staff could have been friendlier: when we said it was our first time while looking over the menus, we got a blank look and shrug. Our food runner, though, was very nice. The queen room faces a fairly busy road, and as country mice we struggled with the traffic noise and young people shouting in the street into the early hours, even on a weeknight. It's a college town with a large university, and the historic building's older windows may not block sound well. People used to city noise might not mind, but we didn't sleep well. If I stayed again, I'd book the king room facing the back, which should be quieter.

I was in town to pick up my daughter from UNH and wanted somewhere besides the only hotel in town I usually use. This place was a lovely surprise. The room had style, great lighting, lots of space, and was clean. The newer furniture was comfortable, and after a day of travel it was nice to spread out. I slept in the “king” bed, which was pleasantly firm. The spacious bathroom had plenty of towels and amenities. The kitchenette included a mini fridge, Keurig, microwave, and hot and cold water dispenser. Tea, several coffee pods, creamer in the fridge, and a basket of complimentary snacks were provided too. It was just a couple of minutes from the dorm, and the outdoor area had picnic tables and fire pits alongside the restaurant and food trucks. It wasn't the busiest time of year, but there were still a few trucks and people outside with their dogs, and we liked the family-friendly feel. The shop below our room had fun locally made gifts and souvenirs for all ages. We didn't get to try the restaurant this time, though it smelled wonderful, so we'll come back and try it. I couldn't be happier with our night there and only wish we'd stayed longer. I highly recommend it and will definitely return. You should too!

We had a very clean, comfortable stay in a great space. One small hassle was that there weren't any trash cans available after hours when we wanted to toss food waste. The hallway and outdoor lights were also very bright. It would be nice to have a way to switch off the hallway light.
