Homewood Suites by Hilton Raleigh-Durham AP/Research Triangle

The people at check-in were friendly, helpful, and chatty. The room was clean, though it felt a bit dated. There was a musty bathroom smell, like the shower curtain might need replacing. The room was also warm and wouldn’t cool down, no matter how low I set the thermostat, even though it was cold outside.

This is one of my favorite places to stay when work brings me to the area. My only gripes are that I wasn’t recognized as a silver member or given my complementary waters, and that breakfast could use the waffle maker found at every other Homewood Suites I’ve stayed in. This is the only one that doesn’t have one.

The front desk keeps a list of places to check out, with walking distances, which was really helpful. Breakfast was free, pretty good, and had lots of choices. The room, living area, and bathroom were all very clean, and the staff were lovely. They even brought us a frying pan and can opener because our room needed replacements.

I arrived at 12:20 a.m. and was greeted by a friendly front desk employee. The room was clean and had no odor. I enjoyed the hot breakfast too. The hotel is very close to RDU airport, but far enough away that you don’t hear aircraft noise all night. I’d recommend it.
