Red Roof Inn Durham - Triangle Park

I've stayed here many times over the years, and coming back now, the improvement is amazing. The rooms are very clean and have that clean smell. Many have been replaced and remodeled, and they've added lots of security cameras. The front office staff are really nice and willing to work with you. I've seen plenty of negative reviews, but anyone with a bad experience should give it another try. 4/5** -Hart Pittard P.S.

The rooms and property were what you'd expect, and I had no complaints about them. Most of the front desk staff were great, though some were grumpy for no reason. The manager ruined our stay. I saw her peering into windows and being hostile with guests. She seemed unaware of what was happening at the hotel, couldn't communicate clearly with staff or guests, and ended up fighting with guests about things she'd have known if she'd been present or talked to the front desk. I saw too many problems with her during a short stay. I don't know what she thinks a manager is, but it's hard to believe someone so incapable and immature was put in charge. I'd stay here again, but not if she were still there. The corporate replies to these reviews are sociopathic, and I can't believe someone gets paid to put out something so Redi-offensive™️. About the 'safe fee': it's an automatic but optional charge for using an in-room safe. You can and should ask for it back if you don't need one. Many or most rooms don't even have a safe, yet everyone is charged. We asked politely at checkout, but the manager kept giving excuses: that the charge was automatic, normally part of every reservation, and that she'd look into it but couldn't guarantee a refund. Our room didn't have a safe at all. Guests shouldn't have to get serious just to get these fees refunded, since that is the policy.

There's a great place next door for hot dogs, burgers, and other food at good prices.

The room was filthy, with cockroaches inside, and there was a needle in the parking lot. My door wouldn't stay latched unless I used the deadbolt. Terrible hotel.
