Comfort Inn & Suites Lakeside

We drove 3.5 hours and had to scramble for another place after Eddie at the front desk refused us. We had a Booking.com reservation and had stayed here with our service animal five times before, including the month prior. When we arrived, Eddie said no pets, and we showed him the animal's credentials. He then claimed there was no vacancy, though there was, and canceled the reservation. His assumed housekeeper girlfriend hid in the right corner, laughing and snickering as she egged him on. It felt like being bullied in third grade. We've never been treated this way in all my work travel, and I'm appalled this is allowed. They kept my money and made me pay for another room, telling me to get a refund from Booking.com, though they knew I couldn't after the hotel acknowledged the confirmation. Their behavior was a bad call, and I'm sure the ADA would want to hear about it. The past desk clerk, who left on maternity leave, was amazing, but we won't return because of how Eddie was allowed to treat us. Their business card rack has a thousand cards for the General Manager, but the phone number was conveniently disconnected when I tried it. The smug replies to reviews under three stars sound like the same responses from their supposed GM, who I wonder even exists. Please beware and don't stay here. They don't accept pets, but ours is a Service Dog, and we showed all the information.
