The room's decor and bed looked clean and modern, but housekeeping and maintenance need work. There were dead bugs on the carpet, orange splatters on the wall, and something that looked like exploded Fanta discoloring the inside of the fridge. I didn't mention it until checkout, and when I did, I got a blank look, as if it were normal. It seemed unusual for American Inn, though I suppose things like this can happen.

It was a fair price, and the hotel was quiet and nice. Our room was really clean, the shower pressure was great, and the beds were cozy. The staff were friendly, too.

Breakfast wasn't anything special, and I can't see how this place has a 4.5 rating. Check-in and checkout both took ages because nobody was at the desk. Our door seemed bent, was really loud, and was hard to shut, so other guests must have heard it. The lock didn't work either. Do the cleaners just ignore that? The side entrance looks trashy and seems like a fire hazard.

We were a group of 10 and appreciated being allowed to eat our takeout dinner in the breakfast area. The pool and hot tub were adequate, and our grandchildren enjoyed them. Breakfast was basic, but everyone found something quick before we left. I had booked three rooms for family members. The hotel has been updated with a modern, tasteful look, and our rooms were clean and had what we needed. The main drawback was the lack of elevators, which was inconvenient for those of us in our 70s. I hadn't known that when I booked, and that's why I didn't give it five stars.
