Kettle Moraine Cottage

The hosts made the stay feel like home. They were friendly, fun, and full of smiles, and their hospitality at breakfast was warm without ever feeling intrusive. The breakfast was the best I’ve had at a B&B. I was lucky enough to stay for a week. The peaceful, picturesque setting was lovely, and my room had antiques and pretty, thoughtful, whimsical touches. The bed was so comfortable, and the huge tub was a treat.

Breakfast each morning was outstanding. Jerry really outdid himself. Cecelia was out of town, but Jerry’s hospitality was top notch, and we had a fine stay as the only guests last weekend. We got to spend the weekend at this nice little two-room B&B. It was a wonderful change from a standard hotel or motel, and the location made it easy to find plenty to do and explore.

Eagle is a tiny village, so for restaurants and other things you may need to drive to Palmyra, Mukwonago, or East Troy. Highway 67 through Eagle is part of the Kettle Moraine Scenic Route. Tuohy Dr narrows to one lane in places. The house is an old summer home near a lake, though not right on it, and the setting is very remote and quiet. There are two rooms; the Garden Room has an air jet tub. A Keurig is available around the clock, and breakfast comes with fresh coffee in an air pot. I couldn’t find robe hooks or drawers for clothes.

The breakfasts were like little three-course meals, and we got something different on each of the three mornings we stayed. The area is pleasant, with the lake nearby and a nine-hole golf course a short way off. There’s also a train set, which is a fun feature. If you’re into trains, you and Jerry will have plenty to talk about. My wife and I had a great time with Jerry and Cecilia. Our room might have been a little small for two, though that’s debatable, and the bathroom was quite large. This is an ideal place to stay for the Kettle Moraine area, and we highly recommend it.
