The location makes this a great base. State Street Saloon, Sturman’s, Coyne’s, Bardenay, and other good restaurants and bars are within five minutes. Reid Merrill Park and its 20+ miles of Boise River trails are close by, and McCall is an easy drive north on Highway 55. The rooms stay remarkably quiet and comfortable through summer heat and winter cold. I’ve stayed here in both, and it consistently feels like home. I’ve spent more than 2,000 nights with Marriott, and this is one of the best-managed Residence Inn properties I’ve experienced. Opened about a year ago, it was designed for both short visits and long stays. There are four floors of suites, three large conference rooms, and a notably quiet, comfortable atmosphere year-round. The studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom suites are thoughtfully laid out and fully equipped, with blackout blinds, work areas, dining tables, and complete kitchens. Bathrooms have good storage, lighting, and counter space, plus walk-in showers with strong water pressure. The bedrooms have exceptionally comfortable mattresses, lots of pillows, USB chargers on the nightstands, and in-room safes. Housekeeping is meticulous, with thoroughly cleaned, well-stocked rooms. Sarah, the Director of Housekeeping, and Sarah, the Housekeeping Manager, lead an outstanding team. Thanks to Dee and Tiffany as well. At breakfast, Ginger, Lindsey, and Landon serve fresh, well-stocked choices with real friendliness. There are hot items like eggs, bacon or sausage, and waffles, along with healthier options. It’s one of the best Residence Inn breakfasts I’ve had. The fitness center is among the best you’ll find in a hotel, with lots of equipment. The indoor saltwater pool works for both kids and laps, and Christopher keeps the facilities in excellent condition. Outside, the grill and fire pit are great for relaxing in the evening. Leadership shows in the details. General Manager Steve S. follows Bill Marriott’s idea that great people drive great service. Assistant GM Brian shares that commitment. He even covered night shifts so an employee could care for an ill relative. Nikki, the front-desk manager, greets everyone like family. I toured a nearby extended-stay hotel at a similar price, but it was older, darker, and less well maintained. This Residence Inn stands far above it.

I’ve stayed at the Residence Inn in Eagle myself, and through Boise Classic Touring we also pick up guests there. It’s consistently comfortable and well run, with spacious, clean rooms and friendly, professional staff. The location is convenient for getting around Eagle and Boise. For events and tours, the organized front desk makes pickups run smoothly. It’s also a relaxing, handy choice for travelers.

The room was amazing, the hotel itself is beautiful, and the staff were cordial and helpful. I’d been traveling to the Boise area monthly for work and had planned to keep staying here. That changed after I got home and found I’d been charged for two nights. I’d booked one night online through booking.com, then needed to move the stay a couple of weeks later. Booking.com and the hotel graciously changed the arrival date, and the original booking was already paid. When I arrived, I decided to add another night and gave my credit card for that and incidentals. The first night, though, was still paid through booking.com, so I called. The woman who helped remembered the situation and said she couldn’t issue the reimbursement herself, but would pass it to the manager. She was nice and apologetic. The next week was Christmas week. I called that Monday and was told the manager was away for the holiday. Frustrating, but fair. I called again the following Monday when there was still no refund, and was told she’d remind the manager. The next Monday, more than three weeks in, there was still no refund or call. The woman recognized my name, apologized that it hadn’t been handled, and said she’d remind him again. I also left a clear voicemail asking for a response that day. I said I was no longer happy and wouldn’t stay there during my two Boise nights the following week because I didn’t trust them with my card or to fix problems. The manager never called. I contacted the corporate number, and within 20 minutes they looked it up, confirmed the incorrect charge, and said they’d issue a refund. Mistakes happen; I’ve made plenty. What separates good management from poor management is how they handle them. I would’ve gladly kept staying for work, but I can’t support a place whose manager doesn’t address a problem or even pick up the phone to call, whether he couldn’t find the issue or disagreed with me. I’d been patient and pleasant with staff for over three weeks, and believe I deserved a call. I can’t recommend this hotel or book there again.

Nicki and Tonia were so friendly even though I arrived a little late. I wish more hotels I pass through treated guests this warmly. It’s conveniently located for me, well priced, and that 85-degree saltwater pool is something else. I’d seriously live here, and I plan to come back.

I first ended up here by accident on a work trip because corporate picked the hotel for me. I’ve stayed many times since and had a great experience every time. Now whenever I’m in the area, I specifically ask to stay here.
