Carleton Circle Motel Falmouth

The garden outside was lovely, and the man at the front desk was polite, helpful, and very nice. For the area, the price was reasonable. But the room felt run down: stained rugs, hard beds, sad pillows, and black mold in the a/c unit. I checked for bed bugs and thankfully didn't find any. At nearly $200 a night, the place should be better maintained. I've stayed once, and won't be back.

For a quiet place to sleep during high season, the price was worthwhile as long as you aren't expecting fancy amenities. Inside, the room was renovated and clean, and the air conditioning and hot and cold water worked fine. The back of the motel could use exterior work, though. The sheets and towels were clean, but the sheets had a few small tears and were showing their age. The bathroom was clean aside from some grout stains near the tub's bottom. Pillows were misshapen and didn't offer much support, so bring your own if that's a concern.

We were in town for a wedding, but being so tired after what happened at this motel took away from it. Bugs were crawling across the floor, walls, bed, and on us, so at 3:00 am we had to sleep in the car. We had booked two nights, and got a better room the next night because everything reasonably priced nearby was full. The owner refunded only $50 for the night we couldn't stay in the room, though I argued we should get the full $150 back. The rooms were filthy, the pool didn't work, and I found hair between the sheets. I don't believe the beds are changed between guests. Cleaning seemed minimal, with scum around the showers, random hairs, and holes in the walls covered with tape. The photos are deceiving. I'm sick now, and it seems no coincidence that I started feeling unwell during the stay. Save up for a nice hotel and stay far away from this place.

The room was old, dirty, and poorly maintained, my wifi didn't work, and it smelled musty and stale. On the second day I was locked out because the door lock broke and needed repair. The first night, construction in the next room went on until 9 pm, with loud banging throughout the day. I was told earlier that some work would happen, as though that made it an acceptable inconvenience. Worse, I woke up with bites on two mornings in a row. After looking up bed bugs and inspecting the mattress, which had brown stains, I believed they were responsible for the lines of bites across my body. I showed the bites to the proprietor. He first agreed to reimburse me, but after I left he refused to refund most of my reservation. He told the booking site he needed to investigate, although he isn't trained to inspect for bed bugs, then said he found no evidence. The booking site reviewed my photos of the mattress and bites and made an honest effort to resolve things. This was the worst motel experience I've ever had. I don't usually write reviews, but potential guests should know what they're getting into. Stay far, far away.
