Green Harbor Waterfront Lodging

Friday and Saturday were pretty off-putting, with hours of machine noise from nearby properties, landscaping or who knows what. Mornings and nights were quieter, and sitting outside was nice. The outdoor area and pool are charming and family friendly. It's a beautiful property with lots of potential; the rooms are a little small but fine, and the updated bathroom was clean. The main room smelled a bit musty, with a scent of cleaning products.

The room was constantly wet, which made an already uncomfortable stay worse. I understand Cape weather can affect concrete or basement rooms, but it seemed like no one had cleaned this one for months. There were two nearly empty bottles left out, one in the bathroom and one by the bed; dirty socks and someone's broken old glasses were under the bed; and old newspapers and magazines filled the dresser drawers. There were visible flecks of mold on the outside of the drawers. The smell was disgusting, like someone had died in the room and all that was done was to add a Glade plug-in. It didn't help. As we left, we saw the cleaning crew mopping the walls in another room with bleach. I would gladly have put up with a lingering bleach smell if that person had cleaned our room before we arrived. You have a lot of nerve renting a room in that condition. Even at a low price, a room should be clean, and this one was far from it.

I've stayed here for years because it's dog friendly. The room is nice and clean, with a great view and a kitchen. Restaurants and the beach are a short drive away, though nothing is walkable, and there's no food service. I gave service three stars because they don't provide maid service during your stay unless you ask.

I come every year during the week of the 4th of July, and this year I was really disappointed. Some dog friendly rooms still have carpet, and they smelled of dog pee. Our room was very dirty, dusty, and smelly. It was awful, so we checked out a day early because we just couldn't stay. I love this place overall and really hope they fix these issues and update the units.
