Hampton Inn & Suites By Hilton Long Island Farmingdale

I’ve stayed here several times over the past six months. The rooms are in good shape for now, and they have the amenities you need. It’s a newer hotel aiming to offer a decent place for short stays at an affordable price, and it meets those goals. Service has been quite variable, though. More than once there was nobody at the front desk, and snow wasn’t cleared very quickly.

The hotel was very clean, and we were impressed from start to finish. We brought our granddaughters, who are 3 and 5, and they absolutely loved having breakfast each morning and swimming in the pool.

I’ll definitely stay here again when I’m in Farmingdale, which is a few times a year. The front desk staff were all friendly and helpful. It’s a brand-new, updated hotel, and everything felt very clean. The beds were cozy, and the shower pressure was top-notch. There’s a small indoor pool and an outdoor seating area with a fire pit. The breakfast room is spacious and clean, with the usual Hampton Inn breakfast.

The new hotel is cleaner, and at least there’s no moldy AC. The staff are friendly and the shower pressure is amazing. But the walls are thin, and people are loud, obnoxious, and slam doors. I paid $700 for a couple of nights without any holiday, even using all my points. The beds are firm like most places these days, definitely not soft. Whoever called them soft is insane. We were there to rest and sleep, but housekeeping knocked in the morning even with the do-not-disturb sign up. At night it gets so loud, and the hotel is close to a major road. Earplugs help. I asked for a room at the end of the hall, thinking fewer people would pass by, but that didn’t happen. I wish there were a way to control the noise better. The lights really need dimmers and more of a relaxed feel, like the Hilton Home 2 in Yaphank. I’m just glad I didn’t get sick from mold like I do at most hotels.
