East Hampton House Resort

Room 220 was bright, with a nice layout, and the building and grounds are well kept. The staff were great, the grounds are always manicured, and there’s a nice gym. We’ve stayed here at least three times in different rooms, and the location is ideal, with restaurants, a bagel place, a bakery, and other businesses within walking distance. We were there Friday April 4, 2025, for a quiet trip together, but the cable TV kept glitching in both the living room and bedroom. The bed was hard as a rock, and we struggled with it, though we were exhausted enough to sleep. The curtains only blocked light halfway, so we couldn’t sleep in as we’d hoped. Our backs hurt today 😵 The upstairs corner unit has a lovely layout, though the bathroom is snug and there isn’t much kitchen cooking space. A previous room we had, possibly the one below, had a lovely island. The parking lot is messy too. I’d suggest paving the entrance and exit and marking the spaces clearly. We like being able to relax here, and the room overall is great, but we’ll explore other areas because we really need a better bed and working TV service. This stay could have been a bit better.

At least the room was clean and check-in was easy, and Carissa’s is right across the street for breakfast. But the upstairs footsteps came through the thin ceiling constantly, like living under tap-dancing elephants with a drum solo going 24/7. Sleep was out of the question. The mattress was another problem. I sank into it so far it felt like a black hole, and getting back out was a struggle. If a good stay means not hearing every move upstairs and not feeling swallowed by the bed, maybe skip this motel.

The location is perfect, peaceful and beautiful, about half a mile from the village. The spacious grounds and pool were a hit, and it’s extremely family friendly with lots of amenities. Our rooms were immaculate, bright, and nicely appointed. We had a fantastic stay and can’t recommend it enough. Looking forward to coming back.

I called the hotel to ask about the beach location and a few other things before booking through Expedia. While I had the girl on the phone, I asked her for the rate for the same one night. It was 1.5 times higher than Expedia’s listed rate, so I told her I was seeing a better price there and gave her the amount. After we hung up, I went back to book and the Expedia rate had changed to the one she quoted. I called to ask if she had changed it, and she said yes, that it was their protocol to correct a rate if it wasn’t right. I asked why she’d do that when I had all my plans made, and she just said she was sorry, it was her protocol. She even said they had much availability for the night I wanted. Why do that to someone? It seems very shady and scamish.
