AutoCamp Catskills

The setting at AutoCamp Saugerties is beautiful and peaceful, and it’s an easy, quick drive from New York City while still feeling like a real escape. We really enjoyed the property and its elevated outdoor feel. The lodge had food onsite, a bonfire at night, games, and organized activities, so it was easy to relax without leaving. The atmosphere was social but still cozy. Two things affected our stay. We found a field mouse inside our Airstream, which was unsettling and made us less comfortable, even though we understand wildlife can be part of a natural setting. I’d also been approved for late checkout, but when I went to the front desk at that time, I was told I didn’t have it before anyone checked my reservation. The abrupt tone felt uncomfortable and accusatory. Miscommunications happen, but this could have been handled with more care. I sent feedback afterward and didn’t hear back, which was disappointing. The property has a lot of potential as a getaway from the city. We’d consider returning and recommending it, and hope guest concerns get a more thoughtful, responsive follow-up.

Our Airstream at AutoCamp Catskills was spotless and cozy, with a nice mix of comfort and being close to nature. The staff made check-in and setting up the campfire feel effortless, and they were friendly and attentive. The grounds are peaceful, with walking paths, thoughtful amenities, and a layout that gives you privacy. The design is beautiful and the whole place has a calm, romantic feel. A perfect relaxing escape, and I’m already looking forward to another visit.

The clean, cozy Airstream made for a lovely winter getaway, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. My stay was brief, but I enjoyed every moment. I’m sure I’ll return when it’s warmer so I can explore and make the most of the place.

The lodge and common area were a highlight for us: a lit fire, live music, board games, a self-pay market, a small bar, snacks, and a relaxed, warm atmosphere. We also loved the layout, with Airstreams and private mini homes and lodges spread across the land. The all-natural, low-toxic food and body products fit what we look for and use ourselves. It was a one-night trip with my partner, and the snow left from two nights earlier was a lovely surprise. The Catskills location is ideal. I’d wanted to visit for over a year and finally got to cross it off my bucket list. I’d love to bring my 6-year-old twins, who would enjoy how kid- and pet-friendly it is. The place also seemed welcoming to a diverse range of people and needs. The main drawback was the Airstream’s cleanliness and value. There was a lot of built-up dust on picture frames, light fixtures, and decorative items. The shower head had visible white oxidation that made it look and feel dirty. For such a small space costing almost $400 a night, I expected better cleaning. It was still a great experience that I’d recommend, but the cleaning staff needs to do better. The front desk and lodge staff were helpful, sweet, and relaxed, and never seemed bothered.
