Home2 Suites By Hilton Chattanooga East Ridge

Breakfast was fabulous, and the woman who kept it stocked was wonderful. We stay at Home2 Suites when traveling with our dogs, but this one had very few grassy areas for them. There were no poop bags, and sometimes the dispenser was filled with large trash bags that were awkward to use. I’m glad we brought our own. Most of the front desk staff seemed not to like dogs, which surprised us since that’s not typical for Home2 Suites. It’s a good place for a few nights overall. I just wish they showed dogs more care.

The location is great, the exercise room is well equipped, and everything there seemed to be in good working order. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed here last year and I would have given five stars across the board then, but the room cleanliness and service have slipped. This time there were stains on the walls and tile, and the shower floor was getting quite dark. Room cleaning was incomplete each time: once the trash and recycling were left full, another day the beds weren’t touched, and another day there were no towels. Sometimes the room smelled like sewer. Maybe there’s a vent issue, but either way it wasn’t pleasant.

The breakfast bar was great, with lots of options that were kept filled. The staff there were smiling, friendly, and helpful. The hotel seemed fairly updated and mostly clean, but the carpets in the hallways and room were stained. When we arrived, the room smelled strongly like feet. I went down for Lysol, which only covered up the smell and bothered my teenagers. The pillows were very uncomfortable, and the mattress was harder than I expected.

The staff were friendly and respectful, and I appreciated that the cleaning staff left us alone until checkout. There are lots of restaurants just steps away, and breakfast was great, especially the bacon. Our room was nice, quiet, and clean. A comfortable, relaxing stay.
