La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Chattanooga - East Ridge

The room was clean and comfortable, with nice towels, complimentary toiletries, and a great bed. We stopped here overnight during an extended vacation after a day of sightseeing, and the friendly, professional desk clerk made a good impression. The lobby layout also made unloading the car easy and helped my husband get inside with his mobility issues. We’d stay here again if we’re in the area.

For a one-night rest, this was a good stay. The room was clean, with new furniture and comfortable new beds, and the front desk staff were extremely friendly. The exercise room has also been renovated and was nice. There were a few odd details: the shower dispensers were at the front instead of the back, and the old bathroom door was hard to shut. Breakfast leaned heavily toward sugary food. I’d have liked turkey sausage, plain yogurt, and half-and-half instead of pork sausage, sweetened yogurt, and flavored creamers. The fried potatoes weren’t good, either. There were scrambled eggs, waffle maker waffles with what I think was high-fructose syrup, apples, juices, and boiled eggs still in their shells. I also opened a couple of mustard packets and the mustard was dried out. Hard to say how old they were.

We had a mostly good stay, and there are plenty of good restaurants nearby. The staff were all super nice, and the rooms were really comfortable. One bed had a big stain on the sheets when we pulled back the covers. We were tired after a long drive and didn’t want the hassle of changing rooms, so we used the other bed in our double room. I figure we were just unlucky with that bed, and I’d visit again.

The location was a big plus, with lots of food and shopping nearby and Rock City (Lookout Mountain) only 20-30 minutes away. Check-in was quick and the service was great. The rooms are a little dated but clean. The beds were new, Beauty Rest by Simmons, though the pillows could use replacing. There was construction going on while we were there. The workers stopped at a reasonable time, around 5-6pm, and didn’t start back too early, around 9am. For the price, it was a decent stay.
