Courtyard Mesa at Wrigleyville West

We couldn't switch hotels because our son was in a hockey tournament, our team had selected this one, and it was a “stay to play” event. Given what we paid, the stay was uncomfortable and disappointing, and I wouldn't return or recommend it. We did get early check-in, and the main check-in area looked clean and inviting, but our room's condition didn't justify the nightly cost. The worst problem was the air. My daughter and I both have allergies, and there was a foul smell as soon as we entered. The next morning we both woke with stuffy noses and migraines, so we checked the HVAC unit. It appeared unsanitary, with visible mold inside and filters packed with grime and debris. We have photos and video of the filters, which we cleaned ourselves in an attempt to improve the air. The bathroom also looked poorly maintained and dirty. There was hair from a previous guest on the sink and tub, which we had to remove, and the drain cover was missing. The exposed drain looked so unclean we worried something might fall in. The tiles and shower head were stained, old, and visibly dirty. The bed nearest the bathroom had visibly stained covers and comforter, and the pillows seemed unclean and in poor shape. We brought our own blankets and used those instead. We bought new pillows during the stay to have something more comfortable and hygienic. The confirmation was 86640307, for 15-20 January 2026.

We got the room for Spring Training, and it was great being able to walk across the driveway and go straight to bed after the night games. Even with the unusually hot March weather, around 110 degrees, the pool wasn't crowded, so we could cool off during the day. Check-in and parking were easy. There had been a mismatch in the parking details because I made the reservation last summer, but the staff helped us and honored the rate I'd originally noted. Our room was clean and ready, with the bathroom items stocked. It was a great stay for my family, thank you!

The only good parts were the friendly front desk and how easy check-in and changing rooms were. The cleanliness was a major problem. In the first room, there was what looked like shaved hair from a previous guest by the bathroom sink. We checked for bed bugs and found hairs of different colors and lengths across the bed, plus a stain on the pillows. The couch was stained too, the shower floor looked like it hadn't been cleaned, and one towel had stains. We asked to move and the second room was just as bad, maybe worse. A huge brown-red mark was under the comforter, the sheets had hair on them, the walls had burn marks, the shower was dirty again, and the toilet paper holder was broken. After the first night, housekeeping brought fresh sheets, but those were stained too, even though they didn't have hair. Check the sheets and the cushions at the top of the bed, because I don't believe they're changed between guests. We stayed at other properties in Nashville the week before and had no problems. This location needs to improve basic cleanliness.

On this, my third stay, I checked out early, and I won't be back. The walkway outside and the parking lot were covered with hundreds of dead cockroaches. I suppose that's better than them being indoors, but it was awful. The shower wasn't very clean either, and the hotel is very dated and not especially clean in general. They charged $25 to park my own car in a side lot, which seemed odd. The food wasn't good, and the prices on the board didn't match what was in their system. Stay somewhere else.
