Super 8 by Wyndham Chattanooga/East Ridge

My daughter and I couldn’t get into the other room they told us to use for a shower, since maintenance apparently wasn’t available after I reported the problems. They eventually came up and got us in, but there were dead roaches everywhere. I walked across the parking lot and got a room at the hotel there instead. I’m still trying to get my $80 back, since I paid for nothing. In our original room, the bathroom was unsanitary, with pubic hairs in the tub, and the water wouldn’t drain. When I went to sit on the bed, I nearly fell on the floor because the mattress was too big for the frame. The room phone didn’t work, so I had to call staff from my cell.

Check-in was easy, and the beds were okay. The room had new flooring, but the bathroom area was dirty, with filthy light switches, baseboards, and door frames. There was also a door that looked like it joined the next room, and its lock didn’t work. I didn’t try breakfast, since the cleaning made me worry about the kitchen. There are excellent local restaurants, including Champys and Cracker Barrel. I won’t be back.

The first room had cigarette ash all over the floor and burn marks on the toilet lid. The second wasn’t any better. Under the sheets were awful crusty stains on the mattress covers, and a towel I put on the floor came up black with dirt. There was mold and rust in the shower, old cheerios on the floor, and filthy marks on all the walls. This is by far the dirtiest motel I’ve seen in years. These rooms don’t look like they’ve been cleaned in months, if not years.

There’s a strange thumping sound that’s been going on for three days now, and the ice machine doesn’t work. The room needs sweeping and mopping, and rooms aren’t very clean. The man at the front counter doesn’t speak or understand English very well. Best thing about the place is Whataburger right next door!
