Homewood Suites by Hilton East Rutherford - Meadowlands

You can hear airplanes during the day because the hotel is close to teterboro airport, but nights were quiet and we slept well. There's a restaurant five minutes away on foot, and a small plaza across the street with a Panera, Marshall’s, and Aldi. The lobby was really nice and clean, and our rooms were clean and organized, nothing seemed old or dirty. The two young men at the front desk were friendly and quick. Breakfast was typical for a hotel, though there wasn't much fruit to choose from.

In the spring, we had a great time here. The pool was nice, and I didn't hear noise from kids or staff. The room was comfortable, and there's complimentary breakfast. I'd swap out the DIY tacos for waffles. American Dream is nearby, and Krispy Kreme doughnuts, Marshall's, and Dollar Tree are all walkable. I'd definitely come back.

Breakfast was a highlight of our stay at Homewood Suites Rutherford on 3/9/26. There was a great range of choices, from tacos, scrambled eggs, potatoes, and waffles to yogurt, muffins, overnight oats, and juices. Everything tasted fresh and was well prepared. The room was clean and comfortable, and the front desk staff were very friendly. The hotel also has a pool, gym, and minibar, which made things convenient. It’s close to shopping areas and plenty of food options. We had a great experience and would definitely stay again.

The location is great, and the hotel feels nice, clean, and cozy. It seems to have been remodeled. There's a police station right next door if you're worried about safety, and a shopping center adjacent, with a Panera Bread and, I think, a Shop Rite. The coffee maker is ancient, though. A warm cup of coffee in the room in the morning would've been nice, but oh well. My problem was the front desk. They were extremely rude and didn't seem to care about my request. I gave them my room number, then they hung up because they were "busy." Nobody called back to check on the issue. I travel a lot, and hotel staff are usually more considerate, probably because hospitality and customer service are part of the job. For $400.00 for a suite, I expected some decency. Maybe it's just me, but with prices rising and people acting rudely, it feels like this country is going to hell.
