Days Inn by Wyndham East Stroudsburg

The room was clean, the staff were friendly, and the in-room jacuzzi worked great. We didn't use the pool. I was just looking for a place to stay a couple of nights while enjoying the area, and it was a good stay overall. The bathroom door wouldn't close. The lights were a little dim and the TV picture grainy. That didn't bother me much, though my girlfriend thought some people might mind.

The hotel is near Shawnee Mountain, which is about the only positive I can point to. I won't go back, and the proprietors should be ashamed. Stay away. There was some kind of Latin night at the bar, with aggressive bass house music shaking the walls well after 2 a.m. The room stayed over 90 degrees and stifling all night, even with the A/C blasting cold. The indoor pool was too cold to use, and the fog in the pool area was so thick we couldn't see one another. The towels were tiny, old, coarse, and uncomfortable. People were running around, swearing, and slamming doors outside until 3 a.m. At the bar I tried to get club soda with ice, but the bartender, who was cursing about his missing boss, didn't know what club soda was.

I regret booking here. The place is overpriced for its condition, and the staff were just okay, neither especially nice nor rude. The indoor pool looked nothing like the picture. The few chairs and tables were dirty, there were no towels there, and you had to get them from the lobby, which smelled strange. The rooms, hallways, and the rest of the property were dirty too. Walls throughout the room were stained, and when I wiped the toilet, the cloth came away yellow. It wasn't hard to remove, which made me think they simply weren't cleaning.

For the price, it wasn't awful. The lobby looked nice and the clerk was friendly. The room had a fridge and coffee maker, and it was clean, with a heavy bedspread and a TV. My main complaint: there's no mirror in the bathroom. There's one outside it, by the sink and bed. I also forgot they have Latin night in the lounge on Saturdays. I wanted to try it.
