Candlewood Suites East Syracuse - Carrier Circle by IHG

Both the check-in and checkout manager were five stars. We stayed in a budget property with an older structure, but there’d been some nice updates. Our unit’s full kitchen and bathroom looked newly redone and well done. The bed was comfortable, the bedding was reasonable, and the newer HVAC worked well.

The front desk employee was very accommodating, and service was very good. I loved the fresh-ground coffee and the reception area. The location is handy, really close to downtown, and the room was clean. I did run into a couple of small issues: the coffee pot was dusty and filthy inside, and the bathroom had no lotion. When I asked for more, the lady said they were out after first handing me hand wash, not realizing I meant lotion. No complaints beyond that.

There’s no breakfast, but the full kitchen made it easy to cook for myself. The room was spacious, clean, and quiet, with plenty of parking. The surrounding area had some sketchy hotels and not much else. I’d probably come back.

The water pressure was good, and we had fun with a game from the lending cabinet. Staff were friendly and really helpful. The room, though, was disappointing: the pillows were uncomfortable, the TV was laughably small, and the temperature kept swinging all night because the AC seemed to cycle on and off on a fixed pattern. Next time I’d probably pay a few dollars more to stay somewhere else.
