Ramada by Wyndham East Syracuse Carrier Circle

I stayed here on May 11, 2024, and was very disappointed. The room smelled like smoke, and there were cigarette holes in the comforter. The bathroom faucet looked so filthy I couldn't bring myself to touch it. From the bed I could see the ceiling was thickly covered with spackle or something, as if there were large holes up there. It was disgusting, and I wouldn't stay again or recommend it.

The staff were friendly, and the free breakfast was a welcome bonus. The hotel is also handy for the major highways, including I-90, and restaurants are close enough to walk to. I expect to return after the renovation is finished. While work is going on, the outside looks abandoned and the entrance can be hard to find. The indoor pool is closed because of the renovation, which is a letdown. My room smelled pleasant. It was dated, though I don't really know what that means in this context, and the bathroom was large. The TV had lots of channels, but a guide would have helped. I stayed four days after reading the bad reviews and expecting the worst, so my experience was better than I feared.

I went in wary because of the negative reviews, but my stay was pretty pleasant. The staff were genuinely friendly and handled concerns quickly. The rooms weren't fancy, but they were clean and comfortable enough for a practical place to stay. It seems like improvements have been made, and I came away with a decent experience.

The elevator was out, so we had to use the stairs, which smelled awful, like something had died there. In the room, the shower barely worked and the faucet filled the tub. Wi-Fi was unreliable, and the TV channels didn't work. The breakfast area was filthy too. The room itself was disgusting. I had to change rooms because there was urine in the toilet. It hadn't been vacuumed, and there was food and trash on the carpet and sheets. The bedding and pillowcases seemed to have been left from the previous guests, with hair and marks on them. There were chip bags and lids in the nightstand, towels tossed on the bathroom's top shelf, and a wet, dirty mini fridge. I also found a cockroach in the sink and mouse droppings in the room. It was so late that I didn't ask for a refund then or take my family elsewhere, but I was too disgusted to stay the second night. I turned in the keys at 8 am and asked for the second night refunded. They declined. I'll be contacting the corporate franchise and Choice Hotels.
