Springhill Suites by Marriott Syracuse Carrier Circle

I'm a longtime Titanium Elite member, so I've stayed in plenty of hotels. Calling this place “newly remodeled” feels deceptive. Maybe they put up some wallpaper, but the furniture looks old, and there aren't modern outlets for tech, no USB or Type C outlets either. I'm offended that people are led to expect a remodeled, modern hotel. This place was never good, and I doubt it ever will be. It's late, so I'm tempted to check out now.

We just left after a weekend with the marching band. The hotel was accommodating, the parking lots had plenty of space, and the location was convenient, about ten minutes from Syracuse University. The rooms were clean and spacious. I liked the half wall between the couch and bed, and the TV was positioned well between the sleeping area and the pullout couch/trundle. The bed was comfortable, and breakfast stayed fresh and was constantly refilled. It was a very pleasant stay.

The room had an unsettling musty, sweaty smell, and they were out of conditioner. Service was good, though. The receptionist was friendly and gave me toothpaste when I asked.

My first stay at a SpringHill Suites was a pleasant surprise, especially for Syracuse. The recent remodel looks nice, and the amenities made it easy to work while traveling. The room was spacious, and the free breakfast was helpful, with yogurt, eggs, oatmeal, waffles, meat, fruit, juice, and toast. The hotel isn't right by many shops or restaurants. It's more of an industrial park setting, though there are gas stations with convenience stores. I'd stay here again.
