Blue Dolphin Inn

The grounds are pleasant and the location is handy, and the place was nearly empty during our shoulder-season visit, so I can’t speak to noise or crowds. We got by because all we needed was a bed and a working shower. Still, the dated decor, marginal cleanliness, and poorly maintained facilities would put most people off. On day two I bought a dish brush and cleaned the AC fins myself to get it working somewhat. I suspect its filter vanished sometime during the Clinton administration. If you need a cheap room and have very low expectations, it may work. Otherwise, definitely not.

A pleasant spot to return to between days out, with a peaceful feel, clean and comfortable rooms, and everything we needed. It’s near everything on the Outer Cape and reasonably priced. We appreciated getting fresh towels and washcloths each day, plus the good-sized fridge and freezer, which had space for our cooler ice packs and several drinks. There was also a little outdoor sitting area with chairs and a table, nice for breakfast before heading out. It’s not fancy, but we’d happily stay again.

A quiet area, helpful and attentive staff, and a good location for the price. Our room had what we needed, including a fridge, microwave, and A/C, and the water pressure and hot water were both good. While we were out, they emptied the trash and made the bed. I didn’t expect turndown service at such a small place, and I’d return.

The best thing about the Blue Dolphin Motel is its spot near lovely Cape Cod beaches and right by Tony and Laura’s. The motel itself was fine for a brief visit, though the room could’ve been cleaner and the property feels somewhat dated. Tony and Laura’s was a delight: a cozy atmosphere, delicious breakfast, and really friendly staff. Five stars for that breakfast place.
