Tru by Hilton Easton

The front desk guy was very polite and made an effort to call guests by name. He was personable, helpful, and seemed to take pride in doing a great job. I wish I'd caught his name so I could commend him. The room was nice, just small, though for an overnight stay that was fine. I picked this hotel because it had a pool table, but there were no sticks. Luckily, we'd brought our own. People were still in the lounge after 10, but we were told pool could only be played until then. It wasn't a big deal, and if we'd arrived earlier to try more amenities, I probably wouldn't have mentioned it.

My only regret from my wedding weekend was booking this hotel. My guests and I stayed at Tru by Hilton Easton, and they shut off the outdoor lights, then refused to turn the fireplace back on even though it was 40 degrees. The front desk clerk, Tim, was awful: condescending, a terrible communicator, and incredibly rude to me and my guests during what should have been a polite conversation about noise. We stayed two nights and got no room cleaning at all. The breakfast wasn't good either. If you need rooms for a large group, do not book here.

I was staying here for a funeral. The lobby was a favorite, with lots of seating and swing chairs I loved sitting in. The bathroom was also one of the motel's best features. Room service came in one day to make the beds, and you can ask for towels or other things you need. But there wasn't a closet, so I had to live out of my suitcase. There was no small table or chairs, which made eating in the room uncomfortable. It had a microwave, but the mini fridge wasn't balanced, and the bedding was torn.

I stay in hotels around the world as a flight attendant, and this was the cleanest one I've ever been in. The staff were amazing and friendly too. Great place to stay.
