Residence Inn by Marriott Charlotte Uptown

I was here for a month, and every time I needed towels or something else for the room, it arrived right away. The room stayed very clean and the bed was comfortable. Everyone at the front desk and across the staff made me feel welcome and helped me throughout my stay. Great accommodation, highly recommend.

The breakfast made each morning satisfying, with a strong selection of hot food and a yogurt bar with toppings, which was my favorite. Ishia and the kitchen staff deserve credit for it. My room was clean, roomy, and comfortable, a nice retreat after being out exploring the city. The front desk greeted me with real smiles and great service from the moment I arrived, and I felt at home there. I have no complaints and would gladly recommend the Residence Inn Marriott in Uptown Charlotte. I'm already looking forward to returning.

My grandson wanted to stay another 15 nights, which says plenty about our little family getaway. We had my two- and four-year-old grandsons with us, and the 10th-floor suite made the few nights feel like a mini vacation. We parked in the deck, and the staff treated us like royalty. Breakfast was as good as at other Residence Inns I've stayed at, and as a lifetime Platinum member, I've stayed at a lot of them. The ice storm forecast had prompted me to bring the family here, though it turned out less severe than expected. Nearby restaurants had lots of options: the boys picked pizza, while my daughter and wife made other good choices, and I could easily walk to pick up takeout. We'll come back if Charlotte gets another big ice storm forecast.

The location is excellent and the common areas were acceptable, but the guest rooms need serious renovation. I had to switch rooms three times because of room issues, first a safety concern and then cleanliness. After the second move, I accepted things as they were rather than deal with another disruption. Monica at the desk was courteous and professional, apologized, and tried to accommodate me each time. She worked closely with Evelyn from housekeeping to make the second room change my last one, and their care was the best part of my stay. The staff did what they could, but the room conditions affected the whole visit, and the price isn't acceptable for what you get.
