Residence Inn Charlotte Northlake

We've been here since June, and the beds and pillows are really uncomfortable. Housekeeping has never swept my floors, wiped the counters or tables, or cleaned the shower. They just half-heartedly make the bed and take out some of the trash. I asked management for a broom and shower cleaner so I could do it myself, but they wouldn't give them to me. I don't get it. My husband's truck has also been broken into twice in their parking lot. They need to put cameras in the lot.

I had a 4 p.m. late checkout, but around 2:00 I found Asian beetles in my suitcase and had to rewash my clothes. At 4:03, even though the door latch was locked, staff knocked and then opened the door. I told them I was in the washroom and needed a few minutes, but they came in anyway. Knowing staff can open the door with the latch set makes me uncomfortable, and I don't think I'll keep my Marriott status.

Breakfast was subpar: the milk was expired, and the hot food was nearly frozen in the middle. The lobby and front area are dirty every morning, and the elevators need sweeping. I stay at a Marriott three days every week of the year, and for now this one is at the bottom of my list.

Reception's response has been a disaster. Management promised to get back to me about my messages, but I never heard anything. The staff threw away my belongings even though they had promised to keep them.
