This was our second stay at the Lake Oconee, and both visits have been remarkable. We spent a lot of time ordering room service this trip, and it felt just like dining in a restaurant. Before that, we had a lovely spread of treats in the room. At Oconee Cove, Gede made us laugh, treated us respectfully, and mixed a perfect birthday cocktail for my wife and me. The blinis and caviar were amazing, though I’d use less creme fraiche underneath since I’d rather taste more caviar. The Champaign poached shrimp cocktail was delicious. We also stayed and ate at Linger Longer in October and had a wonderful meal. I still want to try the tri-way crab cakes, which sound delicious and infectious. We had a wonderful time at the spa both visits, with no issues, and loved the mimosas. My wife left her AirPods in the room, but they found them and are mailing them to our address. We couldn’t have wanted for anything. If you need a trip away, I highly recommend it, and Liz gave me an amazing massage.

Even in mid November, we found plenty to keep busy, and the kids club lets children come in and play when there isn’t a camp running. That was a fun difference from many hotel kids clubs. The staff’s kindness and attentiveness really stood out to me, even compared with other luxury hotels. They were especially kind to our toddler. All the food was 10/10, and the heated infinity pool had a beautiful view, especially with the leaves changing color. A perfect stay. We’ll be back!

My family had an awesome stay. The rooms were clean, the service was great, and the location worked well. We especially enjoyed the family pool and nighttime s’mores. The golf range was an easy short walk from the hotel, and I got to hit some balls. I’d like to play a full round next time, but on this family trip with the kids I didn’t get beyond the range. The s’mores were fun, though a few kids were running around with lit sticks, which felt dangerous. I suppose the adults could’ve watched them more closely. One dad kept asking his daughter to stop and go back, but she said she’d never realized how much she liked fire and kept running around after setting her stick alight. I’m glad nobody got hurt. I’m a Marriott Platinum member and wasn’t sure what that included. My status wasn’t acknowledged and nobody gave me any information, so I assumed I didn’t get anything, like a breakfast benefit, and left it at that. It was a nice stay, and I hope to come back for longer and fit in a few rounds of golf.

I’ve stayed at the Ritz at Lake Oconee a few times, and the experience has been amazing. There’s plenty to do that doesn’t cost extra, and the in-room toiletries are really good quality. My room was nice, and I had an amazing dinner on the property. The floor layout is a little confusing since the lobby is on the 3rd floor. If you’re after a luxury getaway, this is the place for you. Check here for that experience.

This is my second-favorite hotel I’ve stayed at, after Ritz-Carlton BalHarbour Miami. The people, service, kindness, and accommodations were all outstanding. They went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed. When birds pooped all over my car while it was valet parked, they gave us Bonvoy points to make up for it. No hard feelings at all! It’s an outstanding place, and the fishing is free. You can’t beat that with a whipping pole.
