The house and landscaping at The Christopher are beautiful, and the breakfast setup was ready each morning. We felt welcomed before arriving and throughout our stay. After traveling for over 24 hours, Mary Gayle made us feel especially comfortable and greeted us warmly, helping us enjoy the little time we had left. We also appreciated being able to eat some delivered food at the tables after arriving late from the long trip.

We took an unplanned road trip from Delaware toward Bar Harbor, Maine, and decided at the last minute to spend a couple of days on Martha’s Vineyard, so we booked The Christopher. The hotel was gorgeous, with warm, inviting interior design and plenty of history. Auntie Ellen was very kind, and the rest of the staff were accommodating. The rooms were updated with a mini split and renovated bathroom and shower, and everything was very clean. Fresh chocolate chip cookies made a nice afternoon snack, and the homemade breakfast was just enough to get the day started. Thanks for the hospitality. I hope to come back someday!

MaryGail, the hostess, is what made our stay unforgettable. Her warmth, generosity, graciousness, laughter, and wonderful spirit made us feel at home, like we were visiting a friend. We’ll always connect our Martha’s Vineyard memories with her. The historic B&B itself is wonderful too, with exquisite decor, a central location, and excellent cleanliness. Breakfast was nicely laid out and more than enough: hard boiled eggs, croissants, yogurt, granola, fresh fruit, and a non-dairy coconut chia pudding that I appreciated. Fresh cookies were available in the afternoon, and in the evening the outdoor patio and garden were lit up around a lovely fire pit table. Our upstairs room had a beautiful balcony, where we could hear church bells and birds. One thing to keep in mind is the very steep, narrow staircase to the upper floors. A second handrail would help with safety, and the stairs could make the upstairs rooms inaccessible for some people. Thanks for memories that will last a lifetime. The Christopher exceeded our expectations, and we’ll see you next time!

The location was super convenient, and the host did her best to arrange an early check-in, which we really appreciated. Service was impeccable. The room was lovely, and I enjoyed sunbathing and stargazing on the balcony. Breakfast was light and delicious, with cookies left out for guests in the afternoon too. We had an amazing stay that exceeded our expectations.

It was my first visit to Martha’s Vineyard, and The Christopher was just what I wanted since I didn’t have a rental car. The bus stops and lovely Edgartown restaurants were only a few minutes away on foot. Staff took great care of my partner, me, and my service dog. We also loved how peaceful the continental breakfasts were. Had the best time here, and I’ll definitely stay again next time I return to the island.
