The staff were really nice and helpful, and the rooms were clean and spacious. I used the small gym almost every day. It’s clean and fine for a quick workout, even if it isn’t big. There’s a place to eat within walking distance, plus plenty of other food options within 2-3 miles.

I’m demanding contact information for management or the corporate office so I can get my $100 back. I was charged a “safe” deposit without anyone explaining it in advance, and it still hasn’t been returned after checkout. The front desk was rude and unhelpful when I raised the charge and the service problems, and they flatly refused to give me the General Manager’s contact details. Service was basically nonexistent throughout my three-night stay. I was denied basic housekeeping and told to take out my own trash, and that fresh towels wouldn’t be provided. Even worse, staff opened my door twice while I was inside. That was frightening and showed no regard for my privacy or safety. I won’t let this go until the deposit is refunded and staff are held accountable. This was easily the worst hotel stay I’ve had. Do not stay here.

I’m a Hilton Honors member and have stayed at this location regularly, but it keeps disappointing me. It’s worn out and dated, and doesn’t meet what I expect from Hilton. The shower often has rust and little or no hot water pressure. Room doors are rough, bathroom doors are worse, chair armrests are missing pieces, and ceiling lights are hanging loose. The hallways are long and narrow, and I can feel the floor shift as I walk. There’s only elevator access at the side of the building, and the elevators are always hot, damp, and dirty. It needs upkeep and better management. I’d suggest the other Home2Suites on Ware Rd. In Mcallen, which was built before this one. Hopefully this property gets a complete cleanup, including a change in management.

We were on the fourth floor, and the shower barely had any pressure or hot water. The mattress felt cheap, and the bedding was worse. We asked for the room to be cleaned the next day because it had been skipped, but they said it was on the books and it still didn’t get cleaned. The hotel’s been open for years, yet its location on Google Maps is still wrong and they haven’t bothered to fix it.
