Texas Inn and Suites RGV

My bird-hunting dog was fine here, and I didn’t see any of the roaches mentioned in other reviews. The room was clean, the shower was hot, the fridge got really cold, and the microwave worked. There was a great TV package too, and I watched football last night. I’ve read the other reviews, but people may have had bad experiences that were their own fault. My stay was a 10/10, no lie. I’ll be back!

The location and price were good, but the room didn’t smell clean and looked old. The TV was tiny, and in the morning we noticed something on the bed that looked like mouse poop. We might not have stayed if we’d seen it sooner. They need to clean better and maybe remodel, or at least replace that ugly bed cover with more modern comforters.

I felt welcome from the moment I arrived at Texas Inn & Suites RGV. The rooms were spotless, with fresh linens and a clean bathroom, and everything around the property seemed well cared for. The well-lit parking and attentive staff helped me feel safe, and everyone greeted me with a friendly smile. It’s easy to reach nearby attractions and places to eat, without dealing with much traffic or noise. For comfort, cleanliness, and service, I found it much better than Texas Inn City Center at University. I’d recommend Texas Inn & Suites RGV if you want a clean, safe, welcoming place in the RGV area.

I rented a room for $70 for one night after a small problem at home. The pool was dirty, though it was closed anyway. I called a friend to meet me so we could go to a nearby water park. The kids hung on the pool fence, which I understand upset the manager, and we did tell them off. Then the manager came to my room yelling that it was for four people, not eight, and I’d have to pay $10 per person. I kept explaining that they were only meeting me and weren’t staying, but he kept shouting that they had to leave within 30 minutes or he’d call the authorities and make me leave too. He repeatedly said they couldn’t stay the night, even though I was telling him they weren’t staying at all. I think he assumed they were there to use the pool, but my friend and I had no interest in the hotel pool. We were just heading to the nearby water park. I rented the room and couldn’t even have guests meet me there. So unprofessional.
