TownePlace Suites by Marriott McAllen Edinburg

We’d stayed here years ago and weren’t sure about returning, but the remodeled hotel gave us a cheerful stay. Even though it was fully booked, our first-floor suite was surprisingly quiet. There was plenty of parking and the staff were friendly. The breakfast coffee machine, though, made drinks that weren’t very palatable. Our suite had a huge bedroom, but only a queen bed, which was a disappointing surprise. We’ll still come back. Before checkout, I gave the front desk woman a list of around five issues in the room. She showed no empathy, didn’t apologize, and said nothing about them when I returned to check out. She didn’t thank us for staying either. I just handed in the keys; she asked if I wanted a paper or electronic receipt, and that was our whole conversation. I wish she’d worn a visible name tag and shown more interest in the guest experience.

Rosa made breakfast especially enjoyable. She was warm and attentive, and took real care to keep everything fresh and well prepared. The complimentary food was delicious, and the service was welcoming. It was an excellent start to the day. I’ll stay here again and recommend the hotel to others. Thanks, Rosa, for all your hard work and hospitality!

Breakfast was easily the best I’ve had at Marriott’s Select Properties, and the woman preparing it was very sweet. The beds weren’t especially comfortable, though, and the rooms are already showing a lot of wear for a newer hotel. Mine had a musty smell, and the AC never really got cold. I might stay again if it were convenient.

Rosa in the kitchen was especially kind and accommodating. She arranged breakfast earlier than advertised so we could get on with our day, and the food was delicious. The prep stations were spotless and neatly organized. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and I’d stay here again when I’m traveling in the area.
