Comfort Suites Effingham Central

I’m picky about where I sleep, and this room worked perfectly. I slept comfortably all night and wasn’t bothered by traffic noise. Clean, convenient, and comfortable. The desk clerk was helpful and attentive even while opening breakfast on her own and handling the front desk. She deserves a raise.

The beds were a bit too soft for my taste since I prefer a firmer mattress. Still, this is a great hotel, very nice and clean.

We’ve stayed here several times. The room was clean, breakfast was fair, and it’s great for the money. The checkout lady was super nice.

The woman running breakfast kept the food area and tables clean, so there was always a clean table when I went down alone and again with my dad. The dining room isn’t big, but she did a great job. The room had plenty of seating and places for bags and suitcases, plus easy access outlets by both the bed and sitting area. If my oldest niece had been with us, she would’ve loved the bedside booklights. We arrived just before midnight and got a slight upgrade to a 2 queen bed suite from the 2 queen bed room I’d booked. That was really nice since I couldn’t sleep and my dad was exhausted. The bed area and bathroom were very clean, but housekeeping seemed to have missed the couch, where there were crumbs from a previous guest. Otherwise, this would’ve been 5 stars. The AC was cold, the comforters were cozy, and there was an extra blanket in the armoire. I’m a chronic insomniac, so I didn’t sleep until about 2 and woke at 5, but still felt more rested than I had in weeks. My dad is sensitive to artificial scents, and something in the room was bothering his sinuses. Still, it was a relief to find a hotel in this price range that didn’t smell like people had been smoking in it. This experience has moved Comfort Suites up my list for future trips, especially when I’m not traveling with Dad because of his sinuses.
