Suburban Studios Cary – RDU Airport

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this place was something else. The lobby had no lights on at check-in. In the room, the toilet seat was broken, the bathroom exhaust fan didn’t work and was hanging out of the wall, and the mirror was cracked. There were stains all over the disgusting rug, stained linens, and holes in the wall. The hallway smelled like fried fish, and the room was musty. The latch lock was completely broken, so only the deadbolt worked. A shame, given how good the other businesses in the area are.

Stay here at your own risk, if this place even counts as a hotel. My room had cockroaches, and they charged for a kitchenette that wasn't there. The microwave and refrigerator were rusted. I don't know how they're allowed to operate.

This place was filthy and had a terrible insect problem. The bathroom didn’t look cleaned at all, and the room smelled like mildew and mold. The front desk staff weren’t friendly, and they didn’t seem surprised when I checked out after one night and complained about roaches and the other issues. There were sketchy people hanging around, too. Do not stay here!

UPDATE: On November 26, 2025, I called this Sburban Studios to find out whether my boyfriend and I really had been put on the DNR list after complaining to Guest Relations that the hotel rented us a room without a working refrigerator. The clerk said we were on the list, but not because of the refrigerator complaint. The owner's sister had claimed that my boyfriend lunged at her on the day we were told about the DNR. That never happened. My boyfriend didn't have any communication with the owner's sister that day. I was in the lobby waiting for our Lyft, and he was outside smoking. He only came in briefly, sat down, and spoke with a guest named Thomas or Tommy. The owner's sister had already left the counter and wasn't in sight. She lied about a black man to justify putting both of us on the DNR list. I intend to take legal action over these lies. My attorney will subpoena the footage from that day to show that my boyfriend never spoke to her, looked at her, or lunged at her. We waited for our Lyft and left without an incident. I don't know her name, but I hope she remembers mine. My boyfriend and I will pursue legal action to the fullest extent of the law. BEWARE: The price at this Suburban Studios may be cheap, but the owner's sister, who works as a front desk clerk, is dishonest. She also owes me money from when I paid cash and she didn't have enough ones in her drawer. I came back the next day to collect the $3 she owed me, but she returned only $2. Again, I find her untrustworthy and a liar.
