We brought a large group of sports teams for an overnight stay and had a great experience. The rooms were very nice, breakfast was good, and the front desk staff were helpful and courteous. The beach behind the hotel was a favorite. Thanks to the management and sales team, especially Mae, for helping us plan the trip. We'll be back.

The bay has a cute little beach area, and parking is free. We were after an inexpensive hotel near Atlantic City, and both the price and accommodations worked perfectly. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and the bathroom had Dove products in the shower. Breakfast was just okay, so get there early if you want the better food. I'd stay again.

The location worked really well for us, with easy access and a short drive to Atlantic City and Ocean City. We enjoyed the little beach area out back, though it's small. Wear water shoes if you explore, as the sign advises: there was quite a bit of broken glass around parts of the beach. The kids had fun in the sand, along the water's edge, and in the small tide pools. Breakfast was good for a complimentary meal, with the usual choices plus sausage and eggs or sausage gravy and biscuits. The apple juice machine was empty every day except the first, which disappointed the kids. Our main concern was check-in. We arrived at 3 pm Friday, and around 4, another family tried to enter our room with a key card. They said the desk had checked them into our room and given them keys. They were kind about the mix-up, but with two small children I felt very unsettled. We kept the door bolted and blocked for the rest of the weekend, and worried someone might be in our room when we were away. Housekeeping didn't come in during our four-day stay. That was fine, but the trash did pile up a bit, so be aware they won't refresh the room during your stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the beds were comfortable. The rooms were clean apart from a couple of small issues, including mold spots on the phone and a pretzel in the AC unit. Nothing alarming. There were only two towels for four people, which was a little annoying, but the desk gladly gave us extras when we asked. Overall, I would recommend the hotel and stay again.

My car wasn't broken into, the room was clean, and the food was acceptable. The hotel itself was okay, with a nice view of the bay and clean rooms. The breakfast was typical HIE. But the beach people brag about is tiny and doesn't feel like a real beach. There's a sign warning about sharp objects and telling you to wear water shoes. The area felt unsafe to me, with flea bag motels and abandoned buildings across the street and nearby. I don't understand the high ratings. At check-in, the clerk announced our room number loudly, which is a major privacy mistake. The bathroom door opened out toward the bed instead of into a hallway, and I noticed odd cracks in the walls and moldings. I wouldn't recommend it.
