The Cliff House feels like a hidden gem, and the team has made something special there. I’d happily dine and have a drink there. We spent one of the season’s last winter weekends in a pine cabin, and it was such a restorative escape. The king bed was incredibly comfortable, the views were lovely all around, and the bathroom’s heated tile floors and little reading nook made the stay one of my favorite weekends this year. Staff were accommodating, helping us book the private saunas and restaurant and answering our questions. The cabins feel private while still having a sense of community among the trees. A day trip to Catamount made for an easy, relaxed ski day. I’m already looking forward to coming back in summer for a swim in the lake.

The staff really made this winter getaway easy. Everyone was kind and helpful, and the front desk texting system was especially convenient. Our lake view cabin was beautiful. Cars stay in a central parking area, so you walk to the cabins and amenities, which gave the place a peaceful, disconnected feel. Limited cell service helped me unwind, and ADA cabins and golf cart shuttles were useful for luggage and in the rain. The property is thoughtfully laid out, with cabins, a pool, saunas, a restaurant, and space to relax. A hot tub would have been a nice extra. Some summer options, like kayaking and tennis, weren’t available during our winter visit, but they looked appealing and give us a reason to return when it’s warmer. We ate at the on-site restaurant, which serves distinctive, high-quality food, though it’s pricey. I’d book ahead in a busy season, and a small guest discount on meals would be a nice touch.

The Cliff House was the highlight for us. Its cocktails were creative and beautifully made, and every dish on the menu felt special. Our family ski trip was easy too, with Catamount just a short drive away after a day on the slopes. The lodges were cozy and comfortable, a welcome place to warm up and relax after skiing in the cold. We had a wonderful stay and would come back in summer.

If you have dog allergies, be careful about booking a Knolls cabin. We chose one because we were traveling with a child and liked having the extra bed, but my husband started sneezing and had a runny nose within the first 5 minutes. It continued whenever we were inside, even with allergy medicine. The cabin looked clean and well cared for, but there was dog dander, and we found dog hair mostly in our daughter’s hair and stuffed animals. I’d like to see a clear warning that dogs stay in these cabins, and some dog-free cabins for people with allergies. We’d still like to return, though we’ll have to decide what to do. The setting was lovely, and I enjoyed the sauna. The food and service at The Cliffs Restaurant were great. Reservations seem to go quickly, so booking ahead is a good idea.

Walking the stone paths in autumn, with those breathtaking lake views, was a real highlight. The whole place is gorgeous, and we loved the food, coffee, and drinks at The Cliff House. Our cabin was cute and comfortable, and the shared bath house was clean and well maintained. The shower and high-end soap felt refreshing. Staff were friendly and helpful from check-in through checkout. I only wish we’d stayed longer. We’ll definitely be back, and I can’t recommend Prospect Berkshires enough.
